SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE OF STEAM BOILERS AT CANADA ROYAL MILK

Technicians will be on site to perform maintenance on the boilers at Canada Royal Milk for 2 days next week: Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16.   The process may require venting limited amounts of steam to the atmosphere.  The work is scheduled between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm.

Expected Abnormal Noise Levels due to Scheduled Maintenance on Wednesday, July 28

Tomorrow technicians will be on site to work on Canada Royal Milk’s boilers. The process will require that the plant vent steam to the atmosphere.  These activities will create abnormal noise levels but present absolutely no hazards to the public or to anyone on site.

The technician anticipates that the work will be completed within 5 hours, starting at 9 am.  We will endeavour to minimize the use of the steam vent as much as possible and the work will be carried out during business hours only.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Un cas positif de COVID-19 a été identifié chez Canada Royal Milk

Canada Royal Milk has learned that one of our employees has tested positive for Covid-19.  In the days prior to the diagnosis, this employee worked primarily in the administration area of the plant.  Our first concern is for the health and wellness of our employee and their household.

Canada Royal Milk is working closely with KFL&A Public Health, who have begun contract tracing for the positive case.  Internally, we have implemented our Covid-19 Workplace Safety Plan.  Every employee who had contact with the positive case were sent home immediately to self-isolate and await further directions from Public Health.  Every employee who worked in the same space as the positive case have been notified and directed to self-monitor per Public Health.

Canada Royal Milk has a comprehensive safety program in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the workplace.  We use both passive (daily screening questionnaire) and active (taking temperature) screening for every employee on every shift.   Physical distancing measures are in place, and mandatory masking is enforced.  Hand washing is a company virtue: as a food manufacturer good hygiene practices are part of every employee’s daily routine.

The workspaces in the administration areas are being thoroughly disinfected.  Our facilities team cleans shared spaces and disinfects high-touch surfaces multiple times each day with Covid-19 approved cleaning products.

We continue to evaluate our Covid-19 Workplace Safety Plan to identify areas for improvement.  Canada Royal Milk will work with KFL&A Public Health to monitor the situation to protect the health and safety of all employees.
